Volvo ECM Description
One of the primary roles of the ECM is to monitor and regulate the fuel injection process. It receives input from multiple sensors placed throughout the engine, such as the throttle position sensor, coolant temperature sensor, and oxygen sensor. Using this input, the ECM adjusts the fuel injection timing, quantity, and pressure to optimize combustion and power output while minimizing fuel consumption and emissions.
