Return Policy – ECM Engineering LLC

  1. General Conditions for Returns
  • Returns are accepted only within the first 15 calendar days from the date the customer receives the product.
  • The ECM (Engine Control Module) must be in good physical condition, showing no signs of damage, mishandling, alterations, burns, moisture, or unauthorized modifications.
  • ECMs that have been installed and used are subject to a technical inspection before any return or partial refund can be approved.
  1. Partial Refund for Voluntary Returns
  • If a customer wishes to return an ECM for reasons other than manufacturing defects or malfunctions, and the product has been used, they may receive up to 50% of the purchase price as a refund, provided that:
    • The return is requested within 15 days of receipt.
    • The ECM is in acceptable condition and can be reprocessed or reconditioned for future use.
  • Important: Each module sold by ECM Engineering LLC is custom-programmed using the customer’s specific serial number or VIN. This individualized programming process incurs non-recoverable operating and software licensing costs. Therefore, any voluntary return request will be subject to a fixed deduction of 50% of the total product value.
  1. Free Reprogramming for Initial Failure
  • If the ECM does not function properly upon installation, the customer may return it for reprogramming at no additional cost, under the following conditions:
    • The ECM must be returned without physical damage or signs of improper installation.
    • The customer must provide technical details about the diagnosis and the vehicle/equipment where the ECM was installed.
    • The return must be made within the first 15 calendar days of receipt.
    • ECM Engineering LLC will cover the costs of reprogramming and reshipping, but not installation, removal, or transportation costs.
  1. Products Not Eligible for Return
  • ECMs that have been altered, tampered with, or damaged by a third party.
  • Burned units, those with bent pins, broken connectors, or damaged circuitry.
  • Modules purchased under special promotions with a final sale clause.
  • Any unit with a removed or altered serial number or identification label.
  1. Procedure for Requesting a Return
  • Customers must contact ECM Engineering LLC in advance via email or phone, explaining the reason for the return and attaching technical evidence (such as photos or scan reports).
  • Once the request is approved, customers will receive instructions for shipping the module back.
  • ECM Engineering LLC will conduct a technical evaluation within 3 to 5 business days of receiving the product and will issue a report with the resolution of the case.
  1. Important Notes
  • ECM Engineering LLC is not responsible for costs resulting from incorrect diagnosis, installation errors, or damage caused by the customer or third parties.
  • The costs associated with module installation or removal are not covered under warranty.
  • The customer assumes the cost of return shipping unless the error is determined to be attributable to the company.
  • Any returns without prior authorization will be rejected.
